About us

Jan is half German, half Belgian, was born in Lugano (Switzerland) and grew up on the Italian waters of the Lake Maggiore. With 3 years he was rowing on the lake and with 9 the passion for sailing began during his first sailing trip on the North Sea with a 9m Trimaran in a 8 bft gale. Now he's been sailing for more than 30 years, mostly on one-design classes and Olympic classes like the Star. With the Star he participated in a World, 3 European and 5 National championships.

Since 1997, he owns his offshore licence (sailing/motor). Consulting and sales are his main skills and so he decided to combine the professional competences with the nautical skills.

After numerous years in the retail-sector, he now works as a freelance consultant and broker. All began in October 2010 as Sales Agent for the German speaking countries of Leopard Catamarans. He became also a broker for former charter boats and privately owned boats. He developed an evaluation tool for preowned boats in order to determine the market price of the listed boats. From 2015 the portfolio of brands and yachttypes has developed and he can also be at your disposal for information and sales regarding a large portfolio of yachts all over the world thank's to his international network. Jan lives in Switzerland, is married and has two young sons.
